Need information on hit-and-run

To the editor:

My daughter-in-law and her children were involved in a hit-and-run accident at about 10 p.m. July 31 in Cape Girardeau. The other vehicle was a tow truck driven by a man. He was a real coward to leave a mother and her children pinned up against a fence and not checking to see if they were injured or dead.

They have a description of the truck but no license plate. There cannot be that many tow trucks in the area. It was white with red on the side, Ford emblem, lights across the top and a snow plow on the front It would have been coming from Edgewood Road. As bad as the van was damaged there has to be some paint on the bumper of the truck or even damage.

The van was hit on the passenger side. My family could have been killed, but by the grace of God their lives were spared. Please ask your readers if they have any information or saw anything to please contact the Cape Girardeau Police Department. Don't let this coward get away.
