Letter to the Editor

A wonderful community venture

To the editor:

It takes three things to do well in all our endeavors. That is especially true in performing or teaching others to perform. These things are the moral of "The Wizard of Oz." You need a brain to think and a big heart to share your soul and, of course, you need to be fearless.

Mike Dumey and his large group of students certainly mastered all of these things in last weekend's presentations of this well known and beloved musical. Their was the ultimate in sharing. Those who have never participated in such an undertaking can never know the kind of hours and hard work involved. Mike Dumey is quick to give the credit to his amazing team of students, parents and loyal citizens who help sponsor Central Junior High School's annual musical. But I am sure they would all agree that the real credit goes to Mike.

It is a rare opportunity that he gives to all who take part in it. These students will always remember the joy of the experience of performing in a musical, especially one of such large size, fine quality and professionalism.

I was moved to tears at the last performance. I was moved by the beauty of the story and the music, by assuming how the proud parents must feel and by witnessing the talent of each and every student. I am please that Mike gave me an opportunity to be associated with such a wonderful community venture. Congratulations to everyone.
