AARON EISENHAUER ~ aeisenhauer@semissourian.com "We've got to get this job done," said Carl Thilenies in the pouring rain as he conducted traffic on a one lane stretch of Henderson St. by the new dorm construction on the Southeast Missouri State University campus. "They said we're working through rain or whatever."

Friday's late-morning storm dropped almost two inches of rain, caused 197 AmerenUE customers to lose power and caused some flash flooding throughout the area.

Spotters reported the flooding resulting from thunderstorms moving over the region around 11 a.m..

The line of storms spread from Donipahan, Mo., northeast through Grand Chain, Ill., and is expected to move east of the area.

Another round of severe weather could occur Friday afternoon. Strong winds and downpours are expected to continue, and hail is also possible.
