Drug makers put profit over safety

To the editor:

Regarding "Mercury in drugs linked to autistic reactions" (or, See, I told you so years ago). This is not rocket science, folks: Mercury compounds have been treated as hazardous waste by the Environmental Protection Agency almost since its inception. Why the pharmaceutical companies' management and top executives would not err on the side of safety (regarding the subject of ethyl mercury compounds in human vaccines) only serves to prove their intellectual dishonesty and fraudulent intent on destroying the health of their customers for their own self-enrichment.

Similar principles apply to the folks in the dental profession who have used silver-mercury amalgams in tooth fillings for years (to the immune-system health detriment of millions). You lawyers out there in cyberspace need to take these pharmakia (the Greek word for sorcery) folks and almost all the MDs and all the other public-health quacks to the cleaners as you did with the tobacco industry.
