Cape assistant principal takes Jackson position
Central High School assistant principal Cory Crosnoe will change his allegiance from orange and black to red and black next school year. Crosnoe has accepted a position as principal at R.O. Hawkins Junior High in Jackson, following the resignation announcement of current principal Dennis Parham, who has accepted the job of superintendent in the Woodland School District for next year. Crosnoe's position at Central has been eliminated as part of districtwide budget cuts that also purged five teaching positions for next year.
AARP sponsoring Medicare workshop
Local senior citizens will have an opportunity to learn about the new Medicare Prescription Drug Improvement and Modernization Act of 2003 at a free workshop at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Harrison Room at Southeast Missouri Hospital. For more information, call Ilena Aslin at 651-0898.
Historical group holding wine and cheese party
The Historical Association of Greater Cape Girardeau is holding a wine and cheese party at the N'Orleans from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday. The party is open to members and those interested in becoming a member. For more information, call 335-3546.
Club holding chicken and dumpling dinner Sunday
The Westview Club will hold a chicken and dumpling and ham dinner from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Millersville Masonic Hall.
