Bulldogs hammer Fredericktown

Notre Dame's baseball team backed up Tuesday's victory against previously undefeated Sikeston by pounding host Fredericktown 16-3 on Wednesday.

Blake Urhahn pitched a six-hitter and also starred offensively with a home run, three hits and four runs batted in. Urhahn struck out five and walked eight.

Meadow Heights 1-5, Bismark 24-3

Meadow Heights rebounded from a 24-1, five-inning loss in the opener to beat host Bismarck 5-3 and salvage a doubleheader split.

Kevin Statler was the winning pitcher for the Panthers (3-10) in the second game and he also had two doubles.(Game 1)

Emily Buehrle, Lauren Mehner and Destiny Dirnberger added goals for Notre Dame (11-2-1). Buehrle had two assists while Megan Holloway and Kristen Boos both added assists.

Jackson 4, St. Vincent 0

Molly Hartmann scored three goals to lead Jackson (13-3-1) to a win at St. Vincent (6-13).

K.T. Biri added the other goal for Jackson, which scored all four of its goals in the second half. Biri added an assist and Whitney Dietl had three assists. Kylie Werner was in goal for the shutout.TRACK AND FIELD

Kelly claimed both their own girls and boys meets. Chaffee placed second in the girls, while Saxony Lutheran was second in the boys.

Kelly's Rachel Kline won three events (high jump, 100 meters, pole vault).

Chase Walker led the Indians with a 34, but Jackson fell just short at Kimbeland Country Club in Jackson. Gabe Sauer shot a 36, Blake McDowell 37 and Nick Robinson 41.
