Jackson edges Hillsboro in 10 innings

Brandon Gendron homered in the 10th inning Wednesday to give the Jackson baseball team a 1-0 win at Hillsboro.

Tyler Beussink picked up the win in relief after a strong performance by Jason Meystedt. Meystedt threw nine innings, allowed only two hits and struck out 15 for Jackson (2-1).

Jackson Quad

Jackson swept its own quad meet.

Isaac Venable won the 800 and 1,600 and Brad Crader won the shot put and discus for the Jackson boys.

For the girls, Amy West (pole vault) and Rachel Smith (1,600) were individual winners for Jackson.

Notre Dame's Emily Bira set a school record in the 200 meter dash with a time of 27.26 seconds.GIRLS SOCCER

Sierra Ellis scored twice in a home win. Lauren Mehner, Megan Holloway and Amanda Dirnberger added goals for Notre Dame (5-0). Dirnberger and Brittney Little had two assists apiece. Katie Palmer and Laura Muir combined for the shutout.

Notre Dame's JV won 3-0.

Jackson 2, Hillsboro 0

Molly Hartmann had a goal and an assist in Jackson's road victory.

Jackson (4-1) had plenty of offensive opportunities with 32 shots on goal. Randi Kraust scored Jackson's other goal. Kylie Werner recorded the shutout.

Chase Walker, Gabe Seyer and Taylor McDowell shot 38s for Jackson (3-2) in a road dual win.

Eric Fraley rounded out Jackson's top four with a 39.

Kevin Foster of Fredericktown was the medalist with a 1-under par 35.

Notre Dame defeated Perryville in a home dual.

Will Lindman carded a 39 to lead Notre Dame (2-3). Jon Obermark turned in a 42, Andrew Mothershead had a 46 and Tyler Menz scored a 50.GIRLS SWIMMING

Central won its fourth meet in a row with a victory over Lutheran South at home.

Callie Hoffman won the 200 IM and was a part of two winning relay teams for Central (6-2).

Wendy Eftink and Erica Dirnberger led Oran (1-1) with three hits apiece. Tori St. Cin, Lexi Todt and Mandi Wood had two hits apiece. Hanna Seyer pitched all seven innings for the win.
