Leadership is public's fault

To the editor:

U.S. leaders have and will continue to fail and mislead us as long as we keep them in office. The American public, including myself, has to take the majority of the blame. The death toll in Iraq as well as the casualties among other countries will continue to rise, and our home-grown servicemen and women may never come back alive.

Do not be surprised to see the number of our fighting troops decline as veterans' benefits get smaller. Social Security and health-care costs for our hard-working and deserving senior citizens have become a joke for the wealthy.

I want to serve my country mentally, and the reward for finding the weapons of mass destruction is death to our children all in the name of peace. How many weapons were found?
