The Road Less Traveled

"You're not to be so blind with patriotism that you can't face reality. Wrong is wrong, no matter who does it or says it. "

- Malcolm X

We are being misled. The only problem with it is that we are doing it willingly. We are allowing ourselves to be used and lied to. The political machinery is broken, running in reverse and running over the will of the people. And we are at fault. Why? We allow the agenda of lies, misinformation and ignorance to continue. We remain ignorant to what our leaders are doing. We allow the mass media to keep us complacent and blissfully ignorant to information that is readily available to anyone with half the will to look. We continue to stick our heads in the sand. We watch Survivor and Who-Wants-To-Marry-A-Big-Fat-Whatever and ignore the hole we are entering into. The world is in turmoil and the biggest threat to our freedom is whether same sex couples are allowed to make a suitable commitment to their partners. The richest and most educated nation is the world is allowing ourselves to be led around like spoiled, stupid bigots.

Recently are serious questions have arisen surrounding our leaders. We can not verify if our president ever served his military commitment. Our foreign policy is becoming playground rules of we are the biggest so we call the shots. We have alienated the other nations of the world to such a degree that they are beginning to blame and hate us for the step up in terrorits acitivites. Our national budget is a laughing matter where we will soon be choking on our own deficit. The Pentagon has even put out a report warning that climate change due to global warming should be factored into global security concerns, maybe even national security concerns. Even as our President has denied that climate change even exists but touts national defense.

Arguably we live in the greatest nation in the world. Hard work and diligence got us here and nothing less will pull us out of our current hole. But it only works if we do it. All the information is there. Our current President is a joke with much to answer for, but we are avoiding the questions. The abuses of power, the hypocrite policies, the favoring of friends over lives, and the misuse of the greatest tragedy to ever happen on American soil for personal and political gain. The tragedy of 9-11 should never be used as part of re-election tool.

Nothing will change unless want it to change. We have to break out of this cookie-cutter mentality and stand together. The saddest thing about all this is that all the information is there. It is free and waiting for the light of day. My advice? Get off your ass and read. Make a difference or don't complain. But this is only my opinion, let me know yours.
