MURRAY, Ky. -- Murray State forward Kelvin Brown was suspended indefinitely Tuesday and will miss the team's NCAA tournament opener after his arrest on drug charges.
Adam Chiles, the starting point guard, also was arrested, but Murray State cleared him to play for the 12th-seeded Racers in Friday's game against Illinois.
The players were arrested Saturday after police responded to a 911 hang-up call from the off-campus apartment where the players live.
Chiles was charged with hindering prosecution, possession of marijuana and a first offense of possession of drug paraphernalia.
"The information regarding Adam Chiles does not, in our opinion, merit his suspension from the team," the university said in a statement.
Brown, the team's second-leading scorer, was charged with theft, possession of marijuana and a second offense of possession of drug paraphernalia.
