CHEFFEE, Mo. -- Charles Edward Mott, 81, of Chaffee died Monday March 8, 2004 at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo.
He was born March 31, 1922, in Tulie, Ky. He was a farmer. He was a member of the Gospel Assembly Church in East Prairie, Mo., and a member of the Western Cherokee Nation of Arkansas and Missouri.
He and Louise Hampton were married June 16, 1942; she preceded him in death. On Dec. 10, 1947, he married Maxine Johnson.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Charles Mott Jr., of Pittsfield, Ill., Paul Mott of Sikeston, and Johnny Mott of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Melba White of Dexter, Mo., and Marilyn Reece of Springfield, Fla.; two brothers, Bill Mott of Scott City and Tommy Mott of Michigan; one sister, Katie Driskell of Cape Girardeau; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Clyde Quick officiating. Burial will be in Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee.
