Leaders need moral roots

To the editor:

My wife and I are deeply concerned about a form of child abuse called same-sex marriage. It is strange that we are forced to spend millions in the fight against AIDS while allowing the main cause of this illness to be allowed legal status by a few liberal courts.

We will not mention the commandments regarding this matter. A child should be the result of the love between a man and a woman. One caller to Speak Out suggested those of us who believe that must still live in the Dark Ages. As we understand the Dark Ages, men and women lived without moral direction until a certain light appeared and taught us how we should live.

Two men committing sodomy or two women doing whatever will not produce a decent and moral adult. If our leaders don't start living the moral standards that most grew up with, this country will cease to be the Christian nation our forefathers left us. Judges who choose to not honor their oaths of office should be removed.

Today we ask all our leaders to remember their oaths of office. We also request that they back an amendment vote on this subject. Either this country is still a God-fearing nation or we have become as immoral as the news media and Hollywood have suggested. Please give us as a nation this chance to determine that question before it's too late and we return to the darkness again.
