CARBONDALE, Ill. (AP) -- A coroner says the drowning death of a Southern Illinois University graduate student from China is puzzling.
Jackson County Coroner Thomas Kupferer says no foul play is suspected in the death of 31-year-old Huaijun Meng.
Meng was found fully clothed and face down Wednesday in water about three feet deep on the Carbondale campus.
Tests to determine if drugs or alcohol were in his system are expected within weeks.
Meng was studying electrical and computer engineering.
He'd been a student at the school since last fall.
