Oak Ridge collects first softball victory

Morgan Newell smacked a doubled and finished with two hits to help lead the Oak Ridge softball team to victory Friday.

The Blue Jays struck for five runs in the sixth, then held on to beat Advance 10-7.

Hannah Sedgwick picked up the win, striking out 10 Hornets batters.

Erin Owens went 3-for-5 for Oak Ridge (1-2).

The Indians showed their dominance with a lopsided home victory.

Sophomore Hannah Roach recorded the hat trick, while senior Lauren Drewett added two goals.

Junior Bobbi Jo Schlick rounded out the scoring for the Indians (2-0).
