Sarah Ashley Long and John Reed Foster were married Dec. 22, 2007, at First Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Paul Kabo performed the ceremony. Caroline Harper of Jackson was reader. Organist was Dr. Gary Miller of Cape Girardeau, trumpeter was Jeff Nall of Nixa, Mo., and soloist was Emilie Stephens of Advance, Mo.
The bride is the daughter of Darrell Long of St. Louis and Debbie Long of Cape Girardeau. The groom is the son of Henry and Mary Beth Foster of Poplar Bluff, Mo.
Matron of honor was Carrie Tracy of Cape Girardeau, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Caroline Harper of Jackson, Stacy Mills of St. Louis, Tobie O'Brien of Cape Girardeau, and Lori Wolper of Munich, Germany, sister of the groom.
Jim Childress of Cape Girardeau was best man. Groomsmen were Eric Harlan and Doug Foust of Kansas City, Mo., Clint Tracy of Cape Girardeau, brother-in-law of the bride, and Bill Eads of St. Louis. Ushers were Jason Kennedy of St. Louis and Clint Tracy.
Flower girl and ringbearer were Clara and Philip Wolper, children of Achim and Lori Wolper, and niece and nephew of the groom.
Maria Childress of Cape Girardeau attended the guest book.
The reception was held at Cape Girardeau Country Club. Servers were Beverly Johnson of Marble Hill, Mo., aunt of the bride; Emily Johnson of Sedgewickville, Mo., and Katie Blanton of Jackson, cousins of the bride.
The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner Dec. 21 at Mollie's Cafe and Bar.
Mrs. Foster received a bachelor of science degree from Southeast Missouri State University, and a master's degree in counseling from Southeast. She is a guidance counselor at Central High School.
The groom received a bachelor of science degree from Missouri State University. He is employed in marketing with the Kerry Group in St. Louis.
After a wedding trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, the couple resides in Cape Girardeau.
