Police expand hunt for murder suspectTuesday, February 26, 2008
Tambra T. Turner, 29, of Sikeston, Mo., faces a possible death sentence for the early Friday shooting death of Chabreshea R. Egson at Egson's home at 1523 N. Spanish St. Prosectors have charged Turner with first-degree murder, armed criminal action and burglary in the shooting death. The warrant for Turner is posted on the National Crime Information Center database as well the Missouri Uniform Law Enforcement System, or MULES, database. Both systems alert police officers of outstanding arrest warrants when they check the name of someone being screened after, for example, a traffic stop. Cape Girardeau police also sent a package of information for the U.S. Marshals Service for inclusion in its fugitive program, department spokesman Sgt. Barry Hovis said. "We don't know if she is in Southeast Missouri or has gone somewhere else," Hovis said. Turner is accused of killing Egson out of jealousy. Turner is the estranged wife of Lloyd Gilmore, who was at the North Spanish Street residence when police responded to the shooting at 5:20 a.m. Friday. Police are also still looking for the front bumper from Turner's blue 2000 Ford Mustang, which they believe may have come loose in a one-car accident somewhere in Cape Girardeau, Hovis said. The license plate number of her car is 836-TZM. Police found the Mustang at her Sikeston home without the bumper. Witnesses have told investigators that Turner said she fired a shot during a confrontation with Gilmore at the home. Turner also told the witness, according to police reports, that she slid on ice and damaged her car. When police arrived at the North Spanish Street home, Egson was facedown on a bed and unconscious. She was pronounced dead after being taken to a hospital for treatment. Turner was last seen at midday Friday, according to witnesses interviewed by police, Hovis said. Turner is a long-time resident of Sikeston and has family in that area, Hovis added. The Cape Girardeau Police Department has been assisted in tracking down and interviewing possible witnesses in Sikeston by the city's Department of Public Safety, Hovis said. "They have found some people for us and did a lot of work on this case for us," Hovis said. "We got a lot of important information, and some of it very critical, that came from Sikeston." 335-6611, extension 126 Comments |

I hope they find her ....She could get the death penalty ....in my opinion
Ditto.........
They'll probably find her holed up in a project in Sikeston or STL.
I suspect they'll find her fairly quickly. Any person who would murder someone out of jealousy is going to do something else stupid...and I hope the Cops are there to swoop down on her.
No way she gets death.
No doubt a lack of opportunity and societal oppression has led to this unfortunate situation.
If the victim was shot at approx. 5am, and the accused murderer was at her Sikeston home the same afternoon, WHY couldn't she have been apprehended? CGPD could have contacted Sikeston DPS and had the woman's residence watched, and at least had her followed, even if all the necessary legal paperwork wasn't ready. Sounds like someone dropped the ball on finding the woman who obviously went back home at some point before fleeing. It takes about 40mins to get to Sikeston from Cape. Surely the ex-husband could have been questioned as to who the suspected shooter was and a phone call could immediately been made to Sikeston DPS to be on the lookout. Maybe this was done but she was sneaky and resourceful enough to evade the authorities, if so, I apolgize for rushing to judgement.
She won't get the death penalty, but she won't like it there!
Gi figure:
You are jumping to conclusions if you think the ex cooperated with authorities. I'll bet it was a case of "I might have been here, but I didn't see nothing".
seadog, good point. But hadn't she broken in earlier or previously to the home and taken some items,.....that's what i hear...maybe that went unreported as well? i just thought maybe she would have already been on the radar.
Sea Dog, maybe the ex's possible uncooperativeness shouldn't have mattered:
"That night around 9 p.m., police were called to 1523 N. Spanish St. to take a property damage and trespassing report. There, they determined Turner knocked on the door looking for Egson and used a large tree limb to break three windows at the house."
It sounds to me like from the excerpt above from a previous SEMissourian article that the PD did know the suspect was involved with the break in that happened before the murder...maybe I'm not reading it correctly, but she was identified previously as the suspect for the tree limb incident.
Bre was my cousin, our family has lost 5 members in the past 3 years most of them are the Lord's doing but this last one was not done by the Lord and he is going to punish the girl who did this to my cousin in his own way while Bre is doing what the Lord had planned for her to.I just want to let the girl know that her day is gonna come. It is his job to take the lives of his people and Bre was one of HIS!
The dude should be safe as long as he stays away from donut shops.
gofigure you watch to much tv. You can not arrest someone just becouse you think she is guilty you have to have proof. If you could arrest someone simply because you think they did something or someone said they did it and you did not have any proof we would need whole states as jail facilitys. Look up how many false reports law enforcement gets and how much false information received and you would be amazed. The fact that she was a SUSPECT in a previous matter does not give the cops probable cause to arrest her for murder, just investigate her. You have to have FACTS and EVIDENCE before you can arrest someone.
