Chaffee boys hit 10-win plateau

There are two reasons to celebrate in Chaffee today.

The Red Devils boys basketball team earned win No. 10 in a season for the first time since the 1979-80 season with its 54-37 victory over Delta on Monday.

Plus senior Andy Hendrix scored 25 points, putting him over 1,000 points in his career.

Chaffee (10-11) outscored the Bobcats 15-4 in the first quarter, setting the tone for the special evening.

The Perryville boys saw their season end with a 46-30 loss to Fredericktown.

No. 2-seeded Notre Dame will play No. 3 Fredericktown at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Perry Parks Center in Perryville.

In other district action, Dexter defeated Ste. Genevieve 81-68.

Girls BasketballMeadow Heights 64, Saxony Lutheran 38

The Panthers jumped out to a 40-16 first-half lead and never looked back.

Amanda Hendrickson paced Meadow Heights (9-11) with 17 points, while Chelsea Kight chipped in 16.

Brooke Valleroy led the Crusaders with 16 points.
