Clemon E. "Clem" Gartung, 91, of Gordonville passed away Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2008.
He was born Sept. 20, 1916, in Gordonville, son of Monroe and Annie Reeker Gartung. He and Albertine Rose were married in 1951. She passed away Jan. 13, 1966.
Clemon attended the former Maple Grove School House in Gordonville. He farmed all of his life on the family farm in the Whitewater area. He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in Gordonville. He enjoyed being outdoors, farming, working with animals and spending time with family, friends and neighbors.
Loving survivors include three nieces, Cindy (Keith) Raganyi, Lynette (Jay) Moore and their son, Landry, and Rhonda (Brandon) Norman and their children, Randa and Bryce, all of Jackson.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Verna Lee Nitsch, Marie Hartman and Erma Faye Gartung.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ann Mowery officiating.
Interment will follow in Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery in Gordonville.
