Vote for Liesl

Liesl Schoenberger of Cape Girardeau has already done plenty to make her hometown proud.

She's more than a budding musician, having already recorded three albums and having won the Indiana Governor's Cup in bluegrass and old-time fiddling. She has been a soloist with the philharmonic orchestra of Belleville, Ill. This girl can flat-out play.

Now Liesl is competing in an Internet competition called America's Hot Musician. And you can help by voting for her.

In the first round, the judges were quite impressed.

One of the judges, who is a violinist for the National Symphony Orchestra, told Liesl that she could tell she wasn't just a music major, but a performance major.

"What I like about you," the judge told her, "is that you don't sound like a classical violinist trying to play fiddle music. I really enjoyed it."

Another judge said, "Let's start with the groove. You got the groove."

If you think Liesl's got the groove, you can vote for her at www.americashotmusician.org.

Liesl doesn't need to win the contest to make her hometown proud. But wouldn't it be fun?
