Police investigate abduction attempt in New Haven
NEW HAVEN, Mo. (AP) -- Police in eastern Missouri are investigating a report of an attempted abduction in New Haven.
A girl told police she was walking near Highway 100 Thursday afternoon when a man tried to get her into his car. She says she ran into a nearby store for help and was not physically harmed.
She described the man as balding with a gray beard and says he was driving a silver PT Cruiser. The Franklin County Sheriff's Department is assisting with the investigation. New Haven is located about 60 miles west of St. Louis.
