Minnie Lue Stafford

Minnie Lue Stafford, 90, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2007, at Southeast Missouri Hospital. She was born Jan. 28, 1917, in Brownsville, Tenn., daughter of Minnie Lue Britton and Robert Owens Sr.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mitchell D. Stafford Sr.; five sons, Lindsay Stafford, John Stafford, Mitchell D. Stafford Jr., Walter Stafford and Joseph Stafford; three brothers Fletcher Wilson, Fred Wilson and Johnnie Wilson Jr.; and one sister, Zettie Bell Hampton.
Survivors include four sons, James Stafford of Viera, Fla., Bill Stafford and Eugene Stafford of Detroit,and Ben Stafford of Jackson; four daughters, Ann Shares and Regina Jones of Cape Girardeau, Viola Stafford of Wildwood, Mo., Denise Warren of Overland Park, Kan.; and a sister, Ora Bates of Decatur, Ill.
She was the loving mother of many children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She attended the Cape Girardeau North Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Minnie was a faithful and loyal servant for her God, Jehovah. She was well known for her courageous and zealous door-to-door ministry. Mrs. Stafford retired as a housekeeper from Southeast Missouri Hospital.
Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007, at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel. The service will follow immediately at 11 a.m., with Titus Davis officiating. Burial will be at Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
