Notre Dame fends off Dexter

The short-handed Notre Dame boys basketball team survived an upset bid as the Bulldogs opened their season Tuesday night in the SEMO Conference tournament at Sikeston.

Top-seeded Notre Dame, playing without 6-foot-8 all-stater Ryan Willen and fellow returning starter Austin Greer -- both are injured -- slipped past No. 8 Dexter 65-59.

Ty Williams and Mark Himmelberg each scored 18 points for the Bulldogs, who trailed by two points entering the final quarter.
