Evelyn Mae Miller Barron, 94, of Burfordville died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2007, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born March 4, 1913, at Morehouse, Mo., daughter of Tony Everett and Lillian Lyota Viola Sprague Miller. She and James Allen Barron were married Jan. 28, 1934, at Chaffee, Mo. He died May 27, 1990, in San Diego, Calif.
Evelyn and Allen moved to El Cajon, Calif., after World War II. She returned to Missouri in August 1992 after the death of her husband.
She grew up in Chaffee and was a lifelong member of First Christian Church there. She was a private secretary 25 years in California to the owner of a chain of convalescent homes.
Survivors include a daughter, Virginia Lynn Barron-Zavales of Burfordville; a son, Tony J. Barron of El Cajon; three grandsons, Dustin A. Barron of Baraboo, Wis., Marc T. and Ian S. Barron of San Diego; four great-grandchildren, Noah Jams Barron, Ashlyn Laura Barron, Gabriel Scott Barron and Kreagan F. Barron, all of Baraboo; a sister, Dorothy M. Miller Seabaugh of Cape Girardeau; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers: Donald C. Miller, Robert E. Miller and Lyle T. Miller.
A private family graveside service was held Friday at Russell Heights Cemetery, with the Rev. Vyron Young officiating.
Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson was in charge of arrangements.
