Disrespect raises questions

To the editor:On Nov. 13 "CBS Evening News" aired a clip regarding the polls for the Democratic candidates, intending to show how the candidates were running neck and neck in Iowa.

During this clip, the candidates were standing during the national anthem. While the other candidates stood reverently holding their hands over their hearts, Sen. Barrack Obama stood holding his hands together in front of him at his waist as he looked around.

While many people will not have a problem with his stance, as a citizen of this great nation I do have a problem with it as well as many questions his stance arouses.

How can we as the citizens of a free nation support a man who shows so much disrespect to not only the very symbol of our freedom, but to the many men and women who have fought and are still fighting and to those who have died and will die for our Stars and Stripes?

How can we believe such a man will care about what this country stands for if he shows such disrespect to the symbol of what America stands for?

How can we believe such a man will protect and defend our flag, our country and our freedom?
