Leonard A. Henson

Leonard A. Henson, 82, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Gir­ar­deau.

He was born Nov. 10, 1924, in Piedmont, Mo., son of Leonard A. and Effie Jane Back Henson Sr. He and Pauline Hervey were married July 20, 1946, in Hannibal, Mo. She died March 16, 2000.

Henson graduated from Central High School and Washington University in St. Louis.

He was a self-employed consulting engineer. He had lived in St. Louis, moved to Piedmont in 1973, and then to Cape Gir­ar­deau in 1996.

Henson was a member of Lynwood Baptist Church and the Elks Lodge in Piedmont.

Survivors include two daughters, Nancy (Warren) Broemmelsick of Cape Girardeau, Deborah Henson of Brandon, Miss.; a brother, Elvis Lee Henson of St. Louis; a sister, Marie Nelson of St. Louis; and two grandchildren, Karen Broemmelsick and Kacie Broemmelsick of Cape Gir­ardeau.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and a brother, Clyde Henson of Hermitage, Mo.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gary Belcher officiating. Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
