Edna Williams, 93, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2007, at the Lutheran Home.
She was born Nov. 21, 1913, in Stoddard County near Puxico, Mo., daughter of Lee and Fannie Rice Green. She was within two months of being 94 years old.
Mrs. Williams graduated from Puxico High School in 1931. She and Eldon Williams were married Oct. 27, 1934, in Puxico.
They lived in St. Louis until World War II when her husband left to serve in the U.S. Navy and she and the children moved back to Puxico. They moved back to St. Louis in 1950 and lived there 30 years. After retiring they spent their remaining years in Cape Girardeau. She loved to sew, beginning as a child and continuing into her 80s. She also loved to garden and cook. She worked at Community Federal Bank in St. Louis County.
She is survived by two sons, Carroll (Debbie) Williams of Cape Girardeau, Ron (Jan) Williams of St. Louis; a daughter, Janet Nichols of Apex, N.C.; six grandchildren, Steven Williams, Kevin Williams, Stacy Holland, Chris Williams, Lisa Nichols and Lance Ferell; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was a dear aunt, great-aunt, cousin and friend.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a brother, Truman (Lillian) Green; and a sister, Alma (Clarence) Garrett.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mike Shupert officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
