SEMO's graduation

The 576 students who will participate in Southeast Missouri State University's fall commencement exercises today will have a special opportunity to hear a prominent former Cape Girardeau resident.

Gary Forsee, chairman and chief executive officer of Sprint Corp. and a 1968 graduate of Cape Girardeau's Central High School, undoubtedly will have good advice for graduates. Forsee received a bachelor's degree in engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla and serves on the UMR Board of Trustees. He's also chairman of the national board of trustees of the March of Dimes and serves on the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. board.

Among the undergraduates participating in the honors convocation, 19 will graduate summa cum laude, 27 will graduate magna cum laude, and 61 will graduate cum laude.
