Downtown party tonight

Friday, December 5, 2003

More than 25 merchants in downtown Cape Girardeau have a special evening planned from 6 to 9 p.m. tonight, and it's something holiday shoppers won't want to miss.

Tonight is the Downtown Christmas Open House featuring carolers, refreshments, buggy rides, portrait drawings, pictures with Santa, door prizes and a chance to win a $2,000 shopping spree.

Participating businesses are staying open late tonight to give shoppers a few extra hours to mark a few more names off their lists. But it's also an opportunity to visit with your friends and neighbors who own and operate the businesses that make the downtown area thrive.

So stop by and say hello. Have a cookie. Come see what downtown Cape Girardeau has to offer during this special event.

You'll have fun, and you'll find a lot of friendly people ready to help you with your shopping needs for the special people in your lives.
