FARMINGTON, Mo. -- Notre Dame's girls basketball team held Fort Zumwalt South to just two first-quarter points but could not keep up the defensive pressure and fell 43-38 Wednesday at the Farmington Tournament.

"Our press worked on them for a while and we got some turnovers; we just quit working it," Notre Dame coach Jerry Grim said.

Notre Dame still led 27-24 after the third quarter but was outscored 19-11 in the fourth quarter. The Bulldogs were plagued by poor free-throw shooting, going 10-for-22 from the line.
