Central soccer - Bound for perfection

Wednesday, November 12, 2003

Thrilling. Action-packed. Awesome.

Words barely can describe this year's Central High School Tigers soccer season. An incredibly talented group of young men, each with his own strength, came together to make history for their high school.

The Southeast Missourian has memorialized that season in a commemorative, soft-bound book containing every moment of these remarkable months. It includes all the newspaper articles and published photos, plus some photos that didn't appear in the paper.

David Ross, whose son Bryan is a senior on the team, said the book is an appropriate tribute.

"An undefeated season comes along once in somebody's lifetime if they're lucky," he said. "That's excitement enough. ... This will be something they'll treasure 10, 20 or 30 years from now."

The books are available for $25, tax included. Checks should be made payable to the Southeast Missourian and mailed to Soccer Book, P.O. Box 699, Cape Girardeau, Mo. 63702. They also may be dropped off at the newspaper office at 301 Broadway.

The commemorative book will be available 10 days after the team's final game and may be picked up at 301 Broadway or mailed for an additional $2.95.
