Geneva "Mutt" was born March 28, 1923, at Fornfelt, daughter of William George and Pauline E. Eifert Sander. She and Sylvester Seyer of St. Louis were married Dec. 26, 1942, at St. Ambrose Church in Chaffee, Mo., and recently celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary.
Geneva was the beloved wife of Sylvester and mother of Wayne W. (Helen), Lynn (Janet) and the late James Lynn Seyer. She was also dear grandmother of Shannon (Doug) Bowers, Jennifer (Christopher) Anderson and Joseph (Mindy) Seyer; and great-grandmother of Katie, Emma, Grace, Molly and Erin. Other survivors include sisters Lillian Little of Scott City, Wanda McCord and Betty Goodman of St. Louis County, Marilyn Graham of O'Fallon, Mo., and Jacqueline Metzger of Wright City, Mo.
She was also preceded in death by four sisters and a brother.
Geneva worked at the Chaffee shoe factory before leaving the Southeast Missouri area. She retired from manufacturing company K-S-H in St. Louis. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in High Ridge and the Ladies Sodality. She was a founding member of St. Vincent de Paul Society food pantry, of which she and Sylvester served as treasurers 25 years.
Geneva was an incredibly giving, loving and active person right up until the last days of her life. Just the weekend before, she and Syl had traveled to Springfield, Mo., for brother-in-law Mel Anslem's 90th birthday party. The day she passed away, Geneva and Syl had canned a dozen quarts of green beans.
She spent many hours making lovely quilts for family members, helping family and friends with their gardens and adding beauty to the world in many other ways. Her family finds comfort in knowing Geneva is now in a beautiful new home with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
The funeral was Monday at St. Anthony's in High Ridge. Burial was at Chapel Hill Cemetery.
