6-year-old boy drowns at Joplin-area water park

NEOSHO, Mo. (AP) -- A 6-year-old boy has drowned at a water park near Joplin.

The Newton County Sheriff's Office said emergency responders were called to the water park, called The Swimmin' Hole, just before 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Ethan Cory received CPR but was unresponsive. He was taken to a Joplin hospital and declared dead.

The sheriff's office is still investigating.

Chief Deputy Chris Jennings said he had no more details.
