Flora L. Miller, 89, of Greenville, N.C., died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2003.
She was born Oct. 2, 1914, at Tilsit, Mo., daughter of William A. and Mathilde Zeller Pensel. She and William Jack McClendon were married Nov. 25, 1933. He died Dec. 25, 1944, while serving in Europe during World War II. On Oct. 10, 1946, she married Lowery B. Miller, who was a teacher, coach and businessman in Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death Oct. 31, 1992. To them were born two children.
Mrs. Miller was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau more than 70 years before moving to Clemson, S.C., Boulder, Colo., and Greenville.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Stuart Rosenstein, and a grandson, Mark Andrew Rosenstein, all of Greenville; three sisters, Mary Wilson of Laurinburg, N.C., Elda Arnold of Hazelwood, Mo., and Meta Joss of Sioux Rapids, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by a son, Mike Miller; two brothers, and two sisters.
There is no visitation.
Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park. A family memorial service will be held, with the Rev. Douglas Breite officiating.
Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
