Kershaw to play at 55 North in Miner

Wednesday, June 13, 2007

Sammy Kershaw, platinum-selling country music artist, is playing an unscheduled show in Miner on his way through Missouri.

Kershaw's traditional country voice found a receptive audience in the early 1990s, with hits like "Cadillac Style" and "She Don't Know She's Beautiful." Kershaw is on tour, and is playing in Miner on his way from Georgia to Nebraska.

The 55 North Bar and Grill, which recently opened, will play host to Kershaw and opening act Bo Brendle from St. Joseph, Mo., at 9:30 p.m. Friday. Tickets are $20 in advance and $30 at the door. Special VIP tickets are also available, which allow concertgoers to sit in a balcony above the bar.

55 North can hold up to 800 people for the event, said bar owner Boyce Church.

Although this is the bar's first big-name concert, Church said 55 North plans to schedule more events like it in the future.

Tickets for the Kershaw concert can be purchased by calling 55 North at (573) 475-9650.
