Monday, May 14, 2007

Five Southeast Missouri organizations received a share of $600,000 in grants from the Missouri Foundation for Health to provide improved health care opportunities. Funding is from the MFH basic support program, which funds the organizations' ongoing staff/operations costs.

Grants were given to Gibson Recovery Center Inc. of Cape Girardeau, $100,000; Kenny Rogers Children Center of Sikeston, Mo., $100,000; Mission Missouri of Sikeston, $100,000; New Vision Youth and Family Services of Cape Girardeau, $100,000; Perry County Nursing Home Inc. of Perryville, $200,000.

Established in 2000, MFH is the largest nongovernmental funder of community health activities in Missouri.
