Oran softball team remains perfect with win vs. Leopold

Callie Kielhofner struck out five and did not walk a batter as the Oran softball team stayed perfect Wednesday with a 6-1 win at Leopold.

Ellen Sikes led the Eagles (3-0) with three hits.

Whitney Vandeven struck out 11 but took the loss.

Brett Heischmidt drove in the winning run in the top of the seventh.

Chaffee took a 7-6 lead in the fourth on Andy Hendrix's grand slam.

Aaron Tomaszewski picked up the win, and Dylan Drury got the save. Heischmidt had three hits.

Destiny Dirnberger had a goal and two assists for the visiting Bulldogs (4-1). Meridith Medlin added two goals, Megan Robert scored, and Mindy Siebert added an assist.

Jackson 7, Hillsboro 0

Lauren Drewett had two goals and two assists to lead Jackson over Hillsboro. Bobbi Jo Schlick, Katelyn Myracle and Randi Kraust added a goal apiece, and Hannah Roach netted two goals for Jackson (2-0).

Chelsea Dale and Schlick each had an assist. Lindsay Poole was in the net for the shutout.

Jackson swept both the girls and boys at a home quad meet.

The Jackson boys finished with a total of 122 1/2 points on the boys side. Notre Dame finished third with 59.

The Jackson girls scored 111 points. Notre Dame placed third with 31.
