Redhawks' Shah earns OVC honor

Southeast Missouri State senior Asif Shah earned co-player of the week honors in the Ohio Valley Conference for his performance in a weekend three-game OVC sweep of Tennessee-Martin.

Shah, a pitcher and outfielder, batted .444 with 12 RBIs as Southeast went 4-1 during the week. Shah, who is tied for the team lead with four home runs, had a home run and two doubles during the week. He also scored five runs. Shah leads the Redhawks with a .357 average and 23 RBIs.
