Virginia L. Baker, 82, of Forsyth, Mo., died Thursday, March 22, 2007, at Skaggs Community Hospital.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

She was born Jan. 29, 1925, in Whitewater, daughter of the Rev. George L and Myrtle Jackson Ventres. She attended school in Delta and attended Southeast Missouri State University.

Baker retired as a banquet organizer for the Greater Los Angeles American Lung Association. She lived in West Hollywood, Reeds Springs and Springfield, all in California, until moving to Forsyth in 2002.

She is survived by three sons, Ken Baker of Ozark, Mo., Kevin Baker of Jackson, Bruce Baker of Woodland Hills, Calif.; four daughters, Kay Baker of Forsyth, Jill McLemore of Kirbyville, Mo., Cindy Prince of Jasper, Ark., Tammy Clem of Stilwell, Kan.; a brother, Vince Ventres of Floral City, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and five great-stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Kissee-Schofield-Eakins Funeral Home in Forsyth is in charge of arrangements.
