John and Pat Edwards of Cape Girardeau announce the engagement of their daughter, Jill Edwards, to Zachary Young. He is the son of Ron and Delaine Young of St. Charles, Mo., and Ellen and Dave Sachs of Villa Ridge, Mo.

Edwards is a 2000 graduate of Notre Dame Regional High School. She received a bachelor's degree in 2004 and a master's degree in 2006 in communication sciences and disorders. She is employed by Speech Language Learning Systems Inc. in Chesterfield, Mo.

Young is a 1997 graduate of Montgomery County High School. He received a bachelor's degree from Lindenwood University in 2003. He is a teacher and volleyball coach with Wentzville School District.

A July 28 wedding is planned at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau.
