KINLOCH, Mo. (AP) -- Two boys were badly injured Wednesday after the stolen car they were in crashed in suburban St. Louis.
The accident happened about 5 a.m. in Kinloch when the car ran into a parked truck trailer. The car had been stolen about four hours earlier in Ferguson, St. Louis County Police spokesman Rick Eckhard said.
One boy in the car was 14, the other 15. Police weren't sure which one was driving. Both were critically injured, Eckhard said.
Police were investigating reports that the car was racing another vehicle. Eckhard declined to speculate but said it was clear from the damage that the car was speeding.
"It doesn't appear it even tried to slow down," Eckhard said.
