A pair of unearned runs in the bottom of the 12th inning Tuesday cost Southeast Missouri State, which suffered a 3-2 loss at Middle Tennessee State.
The Redhawks scored a run in the top of the 12th on a Katie Otterness sacrifice fly to take the lead, but an error from pitcher Elaine Fisher brought home the tying run, and Corrie Abel drove home the winning run with a bases-loaded single.
Fisher loaded the bases with a hit batsman and a walk.
For the game, Fisher allowed five hits, struck out six and walked six in 11 innings. Michelle Summer, Alex Ramirez and Amber Peterson had two hits apiece for the Redhawks.
Southeast (6-11) is back in action today at the University of Mississippi.
