ORLANDO, Fla. -- Carol Wood, 69, of Orlando, Fla., formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2007.
She was the daughter of Tom and Dorothy Wood.
Wood attended May Greene School and Central High School. She owned a small printing shop in St. Louis before moving to Orlando. In 1973 she opened Pronto Printing in Orlando and was joined by a friend, Dottie Springs, who later became her partner. Wood was listed in "Who's Who of American Women," in 1981. She and Springs were featured in "Women Entrepreneurs," a newsletter for and about women-owned businesses in Florida.
Survivors include two sisters, Janet Klenn of Doniphan, Mo., Cindy Huffman of Whitewater; two brothers, Tom Wood of East Cape Girardeau, Ill., Ed Wood of Jackson, and her friend and partner, Springs.
She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister.
There will be a private funeral in Orlando with arrangements by Newcomer Family Funeral Home.
