GLENALLEN, Mo. -- Meredith Orlean Clifton, 72, of Glenallen died Friday, Feb. 9, 2007, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Oct. 24, 1934, at Stewart, Tenn., daughter of John Elbert and Elizabeth Pauline Selph Legate. She and Clarence Odell Kirkpatrick were married May 31, 1953. He died March 16, 1979. She and Rhomie Stephen Clifton were married on Dec. 24, 1983. He died April 26, 2005.
Clifton was a member of McGee Chapel Church at Glenallen and a certified nurses aid.
Survivors include three sons, Greg Kirkpatrick of Alton, Mo., Kevin Kirkpatrick of Sikeston, Mo., and Stephen Kirkpatrick of Mineral Wells, Texas; two daughters, Joyce Ann Simmons of Santo, Texas, and Rhonda Shipley of Glenallen; three brothers, Elbert Legate and Jerry Legate, both of Granite City, Ill., and Terry Legate of Marble Hill, Mo.; two sisters, Peggy Collins of Glenallen, and Brenda Danner of New Field, N.J.; 19 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, two brothers, a sister and two grandsons.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Clinton Massa will officiate, with burial in the McGee Chapel Cemetery in Glenallen.
