Letter to the Editor

Limbaugh's record of service

To the editor:This is in regard to Rick Bohn's recent letter. I am curious as to what strategy that Sen. James Webb has promoted other than the typical cut-and-run Democratic strategy that has been echoed for months. He has bashed President Bush but has failed to give a viable plan for Iraq.

Bohn pointed out the military service accomplishments of Webb. Though David Limbaugh is not a decorated soldier, remember he did serve in the National Guard from 1972 to 1978 and has displayed local leadership skills. Remember, he served as a member of the Cape Girardeau City Council for eight years, elected by the council to serve as mayor pro tem for six of those years. During his second term on the council, he served as an ex-officio member of the board of the Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce. He also served as a member of the Cape Girardeau Public Facilities Authority and was on the annexation committee. He was a member of the Cape Girardeau Board of Appeals. He served as chairman of the Cape Girardeau County Constitutional Bicentennial Committee. He served as a board member of Southeast Missouri Arts Council from 1983 through 1989. It is mazing Bohn failed to mention this about Limbaugh.
