Jackson's fast start sinks Perryville girls

The Jackson girls basketball team bolted to a 20-4 lead in the first period and picked up a 65-47 victory Monday night at Perryville High School.

Gabrielle Garritano leading nine Jackson players in the scoring column with 13 points.

Kendra Schilli and Alyssa Bauwens each scored 12 points for Perryville (2-3).

Notre Dame won seven events en route to their victory against Central. The Bulldogs swept the three relays and also had wins from Brittany Menz, Laura Castleman, Ashley Nenninger and diver Huber.

For Central, Jessie Baker and Hannah Kinder each won two events. Kinder, swimming in her first meet of the year, had state cuts in her wins in the 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly. Central also made a cut in the 400 freestyle, where Notre Dame had a state cut over the weekend.
