Letter to the Editor

Scientific analogy too simplistic

To the editor: Thank you for publishing John L. Cook's recent letter to the editor. His facetious rant illustrates his ignorance. Mr. Cook declares a relationship between human genome research, cloning and (by implication) stem-cell research. These are complicated, distinct scientific endeavors. Analogies such as his are simplistic and insensitive.

Mr. Cook should save his editorial remarks for those issues he understands, namely the "slippery slope" of personal-injury litigation.
