Letter to the Editor

Show love, kindness, patience

To the editor: Thank you, Jodi Thompson, for sharing the "Letter from Jesus."

Christian, you cannot nag, shame, humiliate or legislate someone into heaven. Remember what is at stake. What does the Lord require of you? To act justly, to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God (Micah 6:8).

For many years it has been easy to be a Christian in this country, and we have become spoiled. That is no longer the case. So, Christian, put your words and your actions where your faith is.

Show love, kindness, goodness, forgiveness, gentleness and patience with a peaceful and humble spirit. Some will be comforted or refreshed by that. Some will be skeptical and attribute ulterior motives to your actions. And some may even reject or persecute you for living your faith.

No matter. You are called to be a faithful witness. It is the work of the Holy Spirit to change hearts and create faith. You do your job. Let God do his. And always be ready (1 Peter 3:13-17).
