Rachel Sanderson McPhillips and Julius "Jay" Plucker V were married Aug. 5, 2006, at Christ the Redeemer Episcopal Church in Montgomery, Ala. The Revs. Gregory Evans and Carrie Tuttle performed the ceremony. Pianist was Corbett Lunsford of Chicago, brother-in-law of the bride; and vocalists were Grace Lunsford, sister of the bride; and Summer Whatley of Montgomery.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Julian L. McPhillips Jr. of Montgomery. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Julius Plucker IV of Mooresville, Ala., formerly of Jackson.
The bride was presented in marriage by her father.
Matron of honor was Grace Lunsford. Bridesmaids were Anne Garrigan and Lisa Wheeler of Birmingham, Ala., Darcy Evans of Macon, Ga., Amanda Harrington of Charlotte, N.C., Allison Leslie of Elon, N.C., Sarah Stebbins of San Antonio, Texas, Susan Wellendorf of Odenton, Md., and Summer Whatley of Montgomery.
Jeffrey Plucker of Birmingham was his brother's best man. Groomsmen and ushers were Tony Jaco of Jackson, uncle of the groom; Tyler Trierweiler of Jackson, cousin of the groom; Keith Cain of Marietta, Ga.; Anthony Darby and Scott Hofer of Birmingham; Brian Shannon of Helena, Ala.; Paul Tucker of Charlotte; and David McPhillips of Montgomery, brother of the bride.
Flower girl was Elizabeth Hinshaw, cousin of the bride. Ringbearer was Matthew Jaco, cousin of the groom.
The reception was held at Union Station in Montgomery.
The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner Aug. 4 at Montgomery Zoo.
Mrs. Plucker received a bachelor of arts degree from Elon University, and a master of science degree from Samford University. She is an elementary teacher at Highlands School in Birmingham.
The groom received a bachelor of science degree from Auburn University. He is profiling services manager at Mail South in Helena.
After a wedding trip to Northern California, the couple is residing in Helena.
