Those opposed to power plants need to conserve

To the editor:

In light of the recent massive Northeast power outage that was, if not caused by an overload of the power grid due to marginal generating capacity, certainly exacerbated by such an overload, I call on Alan Journet and environmentalists who consistently block all efforts to modernize, expand and construct new power-generating plants, advocating conservation instead, to practice what they preach. Turn off your air conditioners, dim your lights and conserve so there will be enough electrical power for the rest of us more reasonable people.
