Road and bridge advisory board to meet
Sunday, October 15, 2006
The Cape Girardeau County Road and Bridge Advisory Board will hold its first meeting at 7 p.m. Monday in the County Administration Building in Jackson.
The board, with 11 voting members, was chosen to set policies for road work in the county after voters approved a half-cent sales tax increase.
County commissioners Jay Purcell, Gerald Jones and Larry Bock will attend the first meeting to introduce members to the issues involved with roads and to help them set priorities for their discussions.
There are members from each of the 10 townships in Cape Girardeau County and one at-large member. County highway administrator Scott Bechtold is a nonvoting member of the advisory board.
